About Us

Silverest Central Baptist Church is a confessional Reformed Baptist church grounded in the timeless truths of Scripture and adhering to the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith . We are Located in Silverest Chongwe, East of Lusaka, Zambia. We seek to glorify God in all we do, preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to sinners and nurturing believers in the pursuit of godliness.

 

Our Foundation

Scripture: We affirm the Bible, comprising the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

1689 Baptist Confession of Faith: Our church subscribes to this historic confession, reflecting our commitment to Reformed theology and Baptist distinctives.

 

Doctrinal Convictions

1. Sovereignty of God: God is the sovereign King of the universe, governing all things according to His wise and holy purpose.

2. Trinity: We confess one God in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

​

3. Salvation by Grace: Salvation is by God’s sovereign grace alone, through faith in Jesus Christ alone, for the glory of God alone.

4. Election: We hold to the doctrine of particular election, affirming God’s sovereign choice of those He will save.

​

5. Baptism: We practice believer’s baptism by immersion, understanding it as an ordinance signifying identification with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.

6. Lord’s Supper: We observe the Lord’s Supper as a commemoration of Christ’s atoning work, reserved for believers.

 

Our Mission

Gospel Proclamation: We seek to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ to all people, calling sinners to repentance and faith.

Disciple Making: We endeavour to make disciples of Jesus Christ, teaching them to obey all that He commanded (Matthew 28:19-20).

 

Glorifying God: Our ultimate aim is the glory of God in the church and through the church in the world.

 

Church Government

Congregational Governance: We practice congregational church government, with oversight by biblically qualified elders.

Autonomy: As a local church, we maintain autonomy under Christ’s headship.

 

Community and Worship

We gather for corporate worship, valuing expository preaching, prayer, singing psalms/hymns spiritual songs that glorify God, and observing the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

We strive for a community marked by love, unity, and commitment to biblical fellowship.
